EducationQuest has awarded 14 Nebraskans $75,000 in Reaching Your Potential Scholarship funds.
EducationQuest’s Reaching Your Potential Scholarship program provides renewable scholarships to low-income Nebraska students who face obstacles to college. Applicants are referred by community agencies, colleges, and select high schools across the state. Recipients who attend a two-year college receive $3,000 annually; those who attend a four-year college receive $6,300 annually.
Since the program began in 2000, EducationQuest has awarded more than $8.5 million in scholarships to 657 Nebraskans. Of these, 80 percent are either enrolled in college or have graduated.
Vice President of Grants and Scholarships Eric Drumheller said, “The Reaching Your Potential Scholarship program helps level the playing field for students who have faced barriers that could easily hinder them from attending college. We are impressed by the tenacity of our latest scholarship recipients and look forward to celebrating their collegiate and professional accomplishments.”
